This manual brings together the several legislative enactments relating to the registration of births, deaths and marriages. Rules were in force in the Presidency of Madras and the states of Travancore, Cochin, Pudukkottai, Sandur, Banganapalle, Coorg, Mysore, and Hyderabad; now the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala in India.
